The translation is usually prepared in text editors, i.e. software which allows for simple editing of text. Such editors do not allow for working with graphics such as editing a text located within an image, thus special graphics software is used for this type of tasks. The images must be intertwined with the text, hence DTP software is used. In order to work with a document including graphics which is to look the same as the source document, first we work in a text editor and then we use graphics software while the final stage involves working in DTP software. ATT.PL provides professional DTP services for the translated texts which supplement our regular translation services. Desktop publishing of the documents translated is always performed using professional graphics and DTP software. This consists in separation of graphics and text and removal of the text in the source language from the technical drawings, diagrams, tables etc. The next step includes preparing a template which reflects the original in terms of graphics. The translated text is then entered into the template to form a new language version. As the final result, the Customer receives a document which is identical as the original document in terms of graphics and proper distribution of text. The only slight difference that might be noticed is the size of fonts which is sometimes changed due to the fact that the length of the source language version is not always equal to the target language version. In many cases when working with graphics, we are able to improve the quality of coloured images, background or blurry photographs of the original document which creates a better overall result. Many years of experience of our DTP staff ensures that the final copy of the translated document fully meets the Customer’s expectations.
